How You Can Help
We would love to have you volunteer to help serve meals to our clients. Your presence, a smile, and an encouraging word can really be a highlight in a person’s day. We serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day in our dining hall and volunteers can help assemble food plates in a cafeteria-style service Wednesday through Sunday.
While our kitchen staff usually prepares the meals that our volunteers serve, our guests are also welcome to provide the meal they serve! This is a great opportunity for families, church groups, businesses, and college or community organizations to get involved with meeting the nutritional needs of our clients while also engaging with them. Our clients love home-cooked meals, but many volunteers bring catering platters or family meals from local restaurants as well!
Please allow an hour when you schedule a service time. For those preparing a meal, please prepare enough for 50 people – and they will happily take second helpings if there’s enough to go around 🙂
Breakfast volunteers should arrive no later than 6:20 a.m. (7:20 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday)
Lunch volunteers should arrive by 10:40 a.m.
Dinner volunteers should arrive no later than 4:40 p.m.
Individuals or groups preparing meals will have additional requirements. These will be explained during the information and scheduling process.
